Selina has written and developed storylines and screenplays for a number of long-running television series broadcast across India’s mainstream entertainment networks. These have included three of Sony Entertainment Television India’s most popular prime-time shows, Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin (based on the Colombian telenovela Y Soy Betty Le Feu), Ayushmaan (adapted from the US weekly Doogie Howser M.D.) and C.A.T.S (a version of the international hit Charlie’s Angels). Other work includes teen series Remix and India Calling (Star One), romantic comedy Aur Phir Ek Din (Star Plus), drama soap Raahein (Zee TV), musicals Simply Sapney and Jiya Jhoomein Re (Zee Next), situational comedy Twinkle Beauty Parlour (Sab TV), popular children’s show Vicky Aur Vetaal (Walt Disney India), sports series Champ (UTV-Bindas) and the critically acclaimed crime docu-series Agnichakra on Zee TV, produced by Vinta Nanda and nominated for the Indian Screen Videocon and RAPA awards.

In the initial years of satellite programming in India, Selina was commissioned by El TV to write Akanksha, the network’s first soap opera. She also wrote a romantic comedy teleplay, Love On The Net, for the Star Plus Star Bestseller series, and two thrillers Khoj and Naqaab, as part of the Zee Television Network’s X-Zone and Saturday Suspense telefilm series.

Further, Selina has had extensive experience as a broadcast journalist, anchor and segment news producer. She was a key correspondent on BBC World’s prestigious current affairs weekly India Business Report, traveling and filming stories across the country. She then went on to anchor and report for several of Asia Business News India’s daily news shows, amongst them India Business Day, India Votes and The Indian Investor.

During the 1998 national elections in India, Selina played a core role in the production and execution of TV Today’s Aap Ka Faisla/India Decides (Doordarshan 1 and 2). Prior, she gained experience by contributing to two economic and political television specials – Budget 1995 (on Star Plus) and Three Years Of Reform (on Doordarshan Prime).

During this time, Selina also wrote and produced infotainment features on Indian and international platforms. These included musical segments MTV Asia News! for MTV Asia, promotionals for Home TV’s studio musical Hit Hit Hurray and a lifestyle feature on the renowned puppeteer and folk artist Dadi Padamjee, for The Amul India Show on Star Plus.

In addition, Selina directed Doordarshan’s Sapne Apne Apne, a 13-part series of location interviews with some of Bollywood’s leading actors.
